What to see at Natural History Museum
The Giancarlo Ligabue Museum of Natural History of Venice has its roots in one of the most important Venetian museum institutions. The building itself and the nineteenth-century naturalistic collections owned by the municipality were in fact part of the Civic Museum and Correr Collection. It is located inside the Fontego dei Turchi, one of the most characteristic palaces overlooking the Grand Canal, easily recognizable for its facade decorated with various architectural elements such as paterae and tiles.
